Golang Job: Back End Engineer

About the job

As a Back-end developer your are responsible for building and maintaining the backend of the Watermelon platform. You develop new features, explore integration possibilities with other platforms and collaborate with the team to work on a scalable architecture.

We use many native services like Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Memorystore. In addition, we also use open source projects such as Swagger and MySQL. We do not expect you to know these tools and services from beginning to end but as long as you're willing to learn, the development team is here to help you️ out when help is needed.

We are currently working on a new version of the Watermelon platform and we need a dedicated Backend developer to help us build the most awesome chatbot management platform and show the world how it's done.

What are you going to do (responsibilities)
You will work in our development team to build the Watermelon platform. We enable our customers to build and maintain their own chatbot without having to code. It is up to you to build the workspace where our customers build their chatbot but also add the channel as one click integrations to the platform. (e.g. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram)

In our backend team your will collaborate with our frontend team to translate projects requirements to new features, fix potential bugs and improve the software based on your own ideas. You will use GitHub for deployment and version control and are fully in charge of your own releases.

You will also collaborate with our Customer Experience to collect feedback from end-users and proactively make plans for further improvements of your domain.

We work with a scrum based method that lets you decide your own deadlines, manage your workload easily and make sure we are always working on the right priorities.
We're looking for someone who:

• Has at least 3 years work experience in the field
• Has experience in Go
• Has experience with Unit Testing
• Has a bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Software Engineering
• Speaks English fluently
• Is flexible and able to quickly change priorities;
• Attaches great value to 'clean code'
• Has technical communication skills
• Loves watermelon!

• Contract for 32-40 hours per week with a salary of € 4.500 - € 6.000 (according to your experience) excluding 8% holiday allowance
